Add Your First Product
How to add a product to your shop inventory on shop.vyete.com.
Adding a product makes it available for customers to browse and purchase on vyete.com. Products are managed in the Inventory section of your shop management console.
Steps
Go to Inventory — New Product
In your shop workspace, navigate to Sale Spaces (/sale-spaces) using the sidebar, open the relevant space's Products tab, then click Add Product (or New) to open the product creation form.
Enter the product name and description
Type a clear product name (e.g., "Women's Linen Maxi Dress — Navy") and a detailed description. A good description helps customers find your product in search results.
Select a category and add tags
Choose the most relevant category from the dropdown. Then add up to 10 tags relevant to your product — tags are used in search filtering and help customers discover your product.
Set the price and stock quantity
Enter the price in KES as a decimal string (e.g., "2500.00"). Enter the current stock quantity as an integer. Set a low stock threshold — you'll be alerted when stock falls to or below this number.
Upload product images
Upload at least one product image. Use clear, well-lit photos with a neutral background. The first image uploaded is used as the primary thumbnail on search results and the product listing.
Save and publish
Click Save to publish the product. It will appear in your inventory list and become visible to customers on vyete.com according to your shop's visibility status.
Tip
Products with multiple high-quality images, detailed descriptions, and relevant tags consistently receive more views and conversions than products with minimal information.
Note
Price values are stored and transmitted as BigDecimal strings (e.g., "2500.00"). Always enter prices with two decimal places to ensure accurate display and calculations.
Common questions
Q: Can I add products in bulk?
A: Currently, products are added one at a time through the inventory form. Plan to add your most important or best-selling products first, then expand your catalogue over time.
Q: How do I edit a product after saving it?
A: Go to /sale-spaces, open the relevant space's Products tab, find the product in the list, and click on it to open the edit form. All fields — name, price, stock, images, and tags — can be updated at any time.
