How Auctions Work on Vyete
An overview of Vyete auctions — what they are, who runs them, how to browse them, and what each auction status means.
Auctions on Vyete let brands sell limited offerings — exclusive products, collections, or experiences — to the highest bidder. Each auction is run by a brand and, where fulfilment is needed, linked to a partner shop that handles delivery.
Finding auctions
Open vyete.com and tap Auctions in the Home tab bar. The Auctions tab shows all currently live auctions, sorted by time remaining. You can also reach any auction directly from a brand's profile page.
The auction flow
A typical auction moves through these steps:
- Browse — Find an auction you're interested in and read the item description, starting bid, and end time.
- Bid — Place a manual bid or set a proxy bid (see Placing and managing your bids).
- Win — If your bid is highest when the auction closes and the reserve price is met, you become the winner.
- Pay — Complete payment within the payment window shown on your win confirmation (see Winning, payment, and cascades).
Auction statuses explained
You will see a status badge on every auction. Here is what each one means for you as a bidder:
| Status | What it means | |---|---| | Scheduled | The auction has a set start time but bidding has not opened yet. You can save it to follow it. | | Active | Bidding is open. Place or update your bid now. | | Reserve Window | Bidding has ended but the reserve price was not met. The seller is deciding whether to accept the highest bid anyway. Your bid is held — no action needed from you yet. | | Awaiting Payment | The auction has a winner and payment is now due within the payment window. If you won, go to your myhub to pay. | | Forfeited | The winner did not pay in time. Cascade offers are being sent to the next highest bidders in order. | | Completed | The auction ended successfully — payment was received and the item will be fulfilled. | | Cancelled | The seller cancelled the auction. No bids were charged. | | Ended | The auction closed without a sale (the reserve was not met and the seller chose not to accept the highest bid). |
Note
Bids on Vyete are not binding until payment is made. Placing a bid commits you to pay if you win and the auction completes, but you may retract a bid before the auction closes (see Placing and managing your bids).
Common questions
Q: Can I watch an auction without bidding?
A: Yes. You can view any active auction and watch the live bid feed update in real time without placing a bid.
Q: Are auction items always physical products?
A: Not necessarily. Brands can auction product offerings, exclusive experiences, or collections. Check the item description for details on what is included and how it will be fulfilled.
Q: What currency are auctions priced in?
A: Each auction has a set currency (shown next to the starting bid amount). You pay in that currency at checkout.
